GUIDELINES FOR CANCELLATION

     The West York Area School District strives to keep all student-athletes safe while competing in extracurricular activities. The WYASD will use recommended guidelines,  when cancelling/postponing practices and/or games, from the National Federation of High Schools, District III, and Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association.

     Understanding each sport is different and requires different muscular and energy demands, the WYASD will use evaluating criteria such as, but not limited to: Surface conditions and temperatures, time, heat and wind chill index, and feasibility of safe play.

     The Athletic Director will work with the High School Principal in determining activity curtailment, postponement, delay, cancellation, etc., however the final determination will be made by the High School Principal.
